Notes for Jonas CLARK

See Charles C.Gardner, page 119.
Jonas's will as abstrated in the Calender of Wills:
"1816, Jan. 6 Clark, Jonas, of Westfield, Essex Co.; will of. Wife, Phebe, 2 cows, 1 hog, 6 sheep, all household furniture; also use of land hereafter given to my four daughters, until said daughters are 21. Said daughters, Joanna, Mariam, Hariette and
Betsy, 11 acres on northwest side of road. Rest of real estate to son, Jeremiah, he paying to my son, Peter, $50, and to son, Reuben, $250, after he is 21, and to son Jonas, $375, after 21 and to daughter Polly Crane $25 in one year after my death. To
said Joanna and Mariam each 1 heifer. Rest of personal estate to be sold. Executors son Jeremiah, David Osborn of Scotch Plains. Witnesses Andrew Rogers, Israel Vail, Jacob Vail. Proved 2 April 1816. File # 10967 G"
It is apparent that he lived in Westfield and was a property holder, probably a farmer.
